Anna or Spiritual Healing

Anna had a very special reason for getting up early the next day, so she set the alarm clock for 5 am. It would be her mother's ten year death anniversary. And at the funeral she might end up meeting her father who left her mother right after he new she was pregnant. But now more than ever she needed to rest and to gather strength to face the day that wast almost there.

She woke up the next day feeling ready to take on the whole world. But when she glanced at the calendar, she remembered that this would be a harsh day. So, with no waste of time, she took a shower, had breakfast, got dressed and got into the car to go to the church.

Upon arriving there, all of her memories came back to her. Her mother was buried at the graveyard behind the small church they used to attend the Mass at since she was a little girl. She climbed the steps to find father Gennaro waiting for her. Father Gennaro is a family friend, he helped Anna's mother after the breakup and during the pregnancy. Father Gennaro, now an old man, was brought to England from Italy in order to become a man of the cloth.

After the Mass, both Gennaro and Anna headed to her mother's grave in the cemitery. On her tombstone a beautiful epitaph: "Here lies Dalilah, caring mother, loving wife and devoted christian." Both Gennaro and Anna wept for several minutes until they were suddenly filled with a great feeling of peace. When they looked straight ahead to the entrance of the cemitery they saw Jeremy, the father that Anna had waited 38 years to meet. He was an old man too, not much older than Dalilah would be if she were still alive. As he made his way over to the grave, Gennaro and Anna stopped crying and the peace inside them reached its zenith.

From that day on Anna never felt sad about her mother's death again, for she surely lived on through Jeremy. And Jeremy never left Anna again, he kept looking after her until the day he died
